Teachers might notice in their class settings that there is an option to set student access to Elementary mode or Middle/High School mode. Follow these directions to change the mode in your classroom and see below for the differences between the two:
Student Permissions - Class settings
Shared Mode:
If set to Shared Mode, students would not need to create their own personal accounts. This would allow them, however, to add assignments and portfolio items to their accounts through the use of a Class Code. This mode is appropriate for younger elementary students and required teacher oversight for posting in student portfolio.

Individual Mode:
If set to Individual mode, students have their own accounts set up with their email addresses. This allows them to sign in on the computer or a phone app at any time to send messages, communicate in the class feeds, and add portfolios and assignments. Individual School mode is appropriate for upper elementary through high school students.
