If you do not want to allow Parents in your class/community to communicate with other Parents, you can totally do that with the Parent to Parent Communication setting. You can either choose to Allow Parent to Parent Communication in your class/community or you can choose to Disable it.
What happens when you Disable Parent to Parent Communication setting in your class/ community?
- Parents cannot post to other parents
- Parents cannot send a message to other parents in the class
- Parents can only Post to Teachers/ Admins/ Room Parents roles
- Parents can only message to Teachers / Admins roles
- Parents cannot see other parents in the Members tab of the class/community

Disabling/Enabling Parent to Parent Communication setting of an existing Class or Community
- Navigate to the class/community page
- Click Settings wheel Icon over the top right corner of the class/community screen to open the menu
- Select Edit Settings
- Disable/Enable the Parent to Parent Communication setting
- Click Done on the top right corner of the Settings screen
The parent to parent communication will be disabled/enabled based on the selection.
Disabling/Enabling Parent to Parent Communication setting while creating a Class
- Click Add Class/Group in the left navigation tray
- Click Create New Class/Group
- Click Class
- Select the School that your class belongs to
- Enter the Class Name
- Select the Grade from the drop-down menu
- Disable/Enable radio button in the Parent to Parent Communication settings
- Click Next
The class gets created with the Parent to Parent Communication disabled/enabled based upon the selection.
Note: Please note that in the case of Schools that are using Bloomz for school-wide communication, Parent to Parent Communication setting at the community will not apply to the class. They operate independently. This means, the community can disable Parent to Parent Communication, but the class in the community can choose to allow.
