My school already has classes populated with last year's students, teachers, and parents. How do I transition them to the new school year? There are multiple ways in which you can transition to the new school year.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Manual Transition

This is for all the schools that invited parents manually in the previous year.

  • Step 1: Add new classes for the new year. You can add multiple classes manually at one go.
  • Step 2: Add existing students and/or parents. You have 2 options.
    • Option A: Add existing students+parents into the new classes. You can move just students or students from old classes to the new classes, and the parents will follow.
    • Option B: Add just parents to the new classes You can move parents from old classes to the new classes, this comes in handy when you have an entire class moving into a new class. Or you can just invite the parent emails/ ph numbers to each class if you have the lists.
  • Step 3: Clean up the old classes. You can either choose to delete the classes or archive them.
  • Step 4: Delete parents and teachers who no longer are returning to school. Deleting members from the school will also remove them from all classes and groups that they are part of in the school.

Bulk Import Transition

This is for all the schools that added students and parents through bulk import the previous year.

  • Classes and Teachers -
    • Create the bulk import file for teachers with the new class names (brand new classes for the new school year), class id's, teacher names, and teacher emails (use the same email used in the previous uploads, or the import process will create a new duplicate account)
    • To freshen the data in Bloomz, use the Full Data option - Enabling the Full Data option will add new members and remove any members not explicitly found in the csv import file.
    • To archive old classes - Enabling the Archive option will automatically archive any classes that are not explicitly found in the csv import file.

  • Students and Parents -
    • Create the bulk import file for students and parents, and link them with the new class names (brand new classes for the new school year), class id's, student names, and student id (use the same name, id, and emails used in the previous uploads, or the import process will create a new duplicate account)
    • To freshen the data in Bloomz, use the Full Data option - Enabling the Full Data option will add new members and remove any members not explicitly found in the csv import file.
    • To archive old classes - Enabling the Archive option will automatically archive any classes that are not explicitly found in the csv import file.
